MORE WEBSITES

http://www.rosshoddinott.co.uk/

Ross Hoddinott's homepage is quite simply layed out. He has a large image centrally which is also a slideshow with arrows to skip photos at your own pace, it has 8 tabs accessible at the top of the page and then an introduction as to who Ross Hoddinott is underneath the slideshow. At the very bottom right of the page are links to his facebook and instagram, these links are on all of his pages in the bottom right.

If you scroll down the homepage there are also 3 external links, one to take you to a page where you can book a workshop, one to take you to a page to show you his books and another to direct you to his blogs posts/news with links to his Facebook and Instagram at the bottom.

If you are interested in his work, the fact he is doing workshops would appeal greatly to you as this means you can be shown how he goes about taking his images which is probably why this is the first one in the row. The books external link is central as this is the one you see first and if you like his work you would want to purchase a book, so having this on the homepage is quick and easy for people to find so they are more likely to purchase some of your work. Having latest news on your homepage is also great as people can have access to your most updated news/work which is what they want to see as potential clients.

His first tab 'profile' takes you to a page with a portrait of himself, a description about himself with a short biography and also a list of all the equipment that he uses. This would be of interest to a client as they would like to know about him before they use his services and would also be useful to people who are inspired by his work as they would know what equipment he uses to create his images so that they could perhaps use the same equipment to create similar images.

The next tab is 'galleries' and when clicked takes you to a page of 12 galleries of different subjects so you can choose which ones you would like to view. It is very important to have a gallery on your website if you are a photographer as clients will look through your gallery to determine whether or not they like your work which would influence whether they used your services and without a gallery they can not make this decision so would probably not choose to use your services if you did not have this.

The next tab 'In Print' takes you to a page of his published work, magazine prints with his images on, these are dated. These show his updated published work and show where his work is being shown.

The 'bookshop' tab takes you to a page of his books that you can purchase, the 'workshop' tab takes you to a page where you can easily book a workshop with Ross Hoddinott and the 'news' tab takes you to his updated news/blog which keeps you up to date with his goings on.

The tab after this is the 'contact' tab where you can fill in your contact details and send him a message or call him via his mobile number. There is also a map to show you of his whereabouts.

ruthjoyphotography.com

Ruth's home page is centrally layed out with a patterned background which is visually pleasing as well as a slideshow of images that automatically play through which are eye catching and draw you in straight away as you can see the quality of the images. She also has seven tabs to other pages that you may find helpful or interesting.
If you scroll down a bit on the homepage it takes you to three albums of photography, a wedding gallery, an engagement gallery and a photo booth gallery so you get the jist of the genre that Ruth specalises in.
In the about tab there is a drop down menu to 'about us', 'client reviews', 'why choose us?' and 'how to book us'. All of these are helpful information. Having an about us page is a clever thing to use as you can get across a personality with a description and self portraits.
A whole page of positive customer reviews is great for potential customers as if they read these reviews they may be drawn to using your services.
She has included a page of prices and products with details about her services and products so you get a detailed understanding of the service you will be paying for.
The 'blog' tab takes you directly to her blog. You can update blogs regularly to show customers and potential customers your work and shoots.
The contact us page takes you to an online form to fill out in which you can give them details about yourself and they will get back in touch.

The clients tab takes you to a page you can enter a code in to see your images in an online gallery if you have done a paid shoot with them.

http://www.paulwilkinsonphotography.co.uk/portrait-photography/

The home page has9 different tabs. It is simply layed out with the logo on the top left, the tabs tob right and then a large portrait image filling the entire screen which tells me straight away that the photographers website is portrait based. Especially as the picture doesnt automatically change to a series of others.
If you scroll down a little it tells you about portrait photography and positive remarks about the portrait photographer 'paul wilkinson'. This is a good feature to have as anything positive said about the photographer will be more likely to swerve a customer in the direction of paying for your services.
If you scroll slightly further there are some portfolios to look at. If someone browsing this site likes the images they see they may want to use the services provided. The title font is large so you know what you are about to look at which makes it easy to stop scrolling instead of reading through a lot of small font.
The info tab has a lot about the team in charge of paul wilkinson photography so you know who and what to expect when you use the services.
A few reviews from some customers have been left in a collage/grid format on the same page.
Also on the same page there is a list of rewards that the photography group has earned, this shows off how good the service is as they have won awards. This is a good thing to include on a website.
The portraits and wedding tab show you portfolios of work in the genre.
The workshop tabs gives you lots of detail about workshops you can go to to help improve your skills and also lists the pricing if you were interested in learning how to be successful portrait photographers yourselves.
The website also shows a book that they have created that you can purchase straight away
The website has a blog in which you can see recent news and updates of work done by the team layed out in a grid format so you can view the posts easily.
The clients tab allows clients of the services to see their online porfolios. This is handy as you can send clients your finished work without leaving your home quickly and efficiently.
